Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager, has slammed a small group of Manchester United fans, accusing them of chanting derogatory words against Claire Rowlans, the mother of Phil Foden at Old Trafford during the derby. Foden, who had another terrible performance, was replaced before the hour mark during the 0-0 draw, and after the match, in an enraged mood, Guardiola called the actions of fans as "lack of class".

The highly anticipated Manchester derby fell flat as Manchester United and Manchester City played out a goalless draw at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, leaving fans from both sides frustrated. The result was disheartening, particularly for Kevin De Bruyne, who had hoped for a more memorable farewell in his final Manchester derby following his announcement to leave City at the end of the season after a decade-long stint with the club.

It’s a lack of integrity, class, and they should be ashamed: Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola substituted Phil Foden in the 57th minute, a decision drawing negative reactions including boos from the crowd. Earlier in the match, a section of the fans had already stirred controversy by chanting offensive songs directed at Foden's mother. During the game, some section of United fans were heard chanting, "Phil Foden, your mum is a s***," which was intensified when the striker went over for a corner at one stage.

"To be honest, I don't understand the minds of those involved with Phil's mother. It shows a lack of ethics and class, and they should be ashamed," said Guardiola. According to reports, Foden's mother was arrested last year for drunk and unruly behaviour on a night out, and the player has been targeted by opposing fans due to his local connections.
