Pakistan became the first finalist of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 as they beat New Zealand on the back of a commanding performance by its bowlers and batters. After Pakistan bowlers restricted New Zealand to 152/4 in the 1st innings, batters put up a dominating show as they comfortably chased down the target with six wickets in hand.

Elated with Pakistan’s victory over New Zealand and its thrilling qualification to the final, former Pakistan batter Imran Nazir tried to troll former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer, but eventually ended up embarrassing himself.

Minutes after Pakistan notched up exciting victory, Nazir tweeted, “Hello Wasim Jaffer, guess karo kaha hain hum?” In response, Wasim Jaffer, who has attained expertise in his social media game responded with a cheeky response by commenting “Lahore.”

Speaking of the match, Daryl Mitchell (53 off 35) and Kane Williamson (46 off 42) managed to post competitive score 152-4 in the 1st innings. Shaheen Afridi was once again at his best as he bagged two wickets in the game and conceded only 24-runs in his four over spell.

Meanwhile, Pakistan batters looked comfortable in-front of quality bowling from New Zealand as Babar Azam (53) and Md. Rizwan (57) set the right foundation during the run chase. Md. Harris too joined the party as he closed the gap with his valuable 30 off 26 runs.

Delighted with the way Pakistan made a comeback, team’s mentor and Australian great Mathew Hayden claimed that Pakistan is yet to play its best cricket in the tournament, and he is hoping that to come in the summit-clash.

“Sky is the limit. You can never beat down class. If Pakistan on their day turn up, they are unstoppable. Shadab is a great fighter. To win any tournament you got to fight. I would like to play India in the final purely because of the big spectacle,” said Mathew Hayden after the match.
