The fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to kickstart from July 1 and will be played till July 21, 2024. The tournament is organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and includes emerging and seasoned cricketers from various parts of the world. B-Love Kandy is slated to open the tournament against the Dambulla Thunders in Pallekele.
In the previous edition, Angelo Mathews-led B-Love Kandy emerged out as the champions after thrashing Dambulla Thunders by five wickets in the thrilling summit clash game in Colombo. Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga swept the awards after being on top of the runs and wickets charts.
In this edition of the tournament, five teams will participate and will be playing eight matches each in a double-round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the play-offs stage where the teams are slated to play two qualifiers and an eliminator. The summit clash will take place on July 21.

Lanka Premier League 2024: Teams
The fifth edition will see five teams taking part in the competition which includes the defending champions B-Love Kandy. Along with the reigning champions, Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Thunders, Galle Marvels, and Jaffna Kings are the other teams.
Lanka Premier League 2024: Broadcasting and Live Streaming
The tournament which will entirely be played in Colombo, Dambulla, and Kandy will be telecasted on the Star Sports Network in India, while the live streaming will be available on Disney+Hotstar.
