After exhilarating four years of T20 cricket, the fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is all set to take place from July 1 onwards. The tournament features aspiring and seasoned cricketers from Sri Lanka as well as from various countries which provides an exciting platform to the players and spectators.
The first match of the competition will be played between the defending champions and the runners-up, B-Love Kandy and Dambulla Thunders respectively on July 1 in Pallekele. The tournament consists of 24 matches, where five teams will play against each other in a double round-robin format. Teams finishing in the top four will make it to the playoffs.
Five teams competing in the tournament are B-Love Kandy, Dambulla Thunders, Colombo Strikers, Galle Marvels, and Jaffna Kings.
