Cricket fans lauded Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah for scalping five wickets in the second Test against South Africa. In South Africa’s second innings, Bumrah completed a fifer by the time the hosts managed to put up a total of 111 runs on the scoreboard. In the final leg of the multi-format series tour, South Africa hosted India for the second and last Test at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. Batting first, the Proteas came up with a below-par total of 55 runs, which the Indians easily chased and gained an early lead of 98 runs by posting 153 runs.

South Africa continued batting in the first session of Day 2 and easily chased the score to get a lead of 51 runs by posting 149 runs by the end of 29 overs. While the Protean batters tried their best to maintain the lead, Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah didn’t seem to be in the mood to show any mercy. Bumrah completed his five-wicket haul by picking Keshav Maharaj’s wicket in the 26th over.
Bumrah’s first success in South Africa’s second inning came in the form of Tristan Stubbs (1 off 7), followed by David Bedingham (11 off 12), Kyle Verreynne (9 off 7), Marco Jansen (11 off 9), and Kesav Maharaj, who returned to the pavilion after scoring 3 runs off four deliveries.
