After beating Dallas 5-3 in the penalties on Sunday in the Leagues Cup 2023 Round of 16, Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami are scheduled to take on Charlotte FC in their quarter-final fixture on Friday. The match between Miami and Charlotte will take place at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 11.
Since joining the Major League Soccer club, Lionel Messi has scored seven goals in his four appearances for Inter Miami and entered the list of the top four leading goal-scorers in the club's history. On the other hand, Charlotte came from a goal behind to beat Houston Dynamo 2-1 in the Round of 16 as they scored two goals in back-to-back minutes.

In the 80th minute, Patrick Agyemang scored the equalizer against Houston on Monday night while Brazilian defender Micael scored an own goal from outside the box in the next minute. For Inter Miami, Messi netted another brace which included his game-tying 87th-minute free-kick to force the game into the penalties.
