Shahid Afridi, one of the best all-rounders in Pakistan cricket history, was involved in a major blunder on live television recently, wherein he was getting confused about lbw mode of dismissal. The 46-year-old was playing the Whisper Challenge game on a Pakistan TV channel named ARY, when he was supposed to guess the leg before wicket, but he messed it completely.

Notably, in the Whisper Challenge game, a person gets to put the headphones on, with music playing in their ears at high volume to ensure that they don’t hear a thing. Then, another person in front of them gets to whisper a phrase for him or her to correctly guess, within a stipulated time.

In the Whisper Challenge game from ARY television channel in Pakistan, Shahid Afridi was tasked to guess the phrase “Leg before wicket,” with the help of a couple of hosts. It should have been an easy guess, especially since the 46-year-old got the “Leg before” part spot on, but this wasn’t the case.

When one of the ARY hosts stated to Shahid Afridi that the answer was “Leg before wicket,” he responded, “Leg before wicket kya hoti hai (What is leg before wicket)?” The host stated that its, “lbw,” which led to the Pakistani all-rounder getting confused and saying, “Toh ye kaunsi cricket ki jubaan bol rahey ho, pehli baar sunn raha hu leg before wicket (So what is this cricket language you are speaking, I am listening to leg before wicket for the first time).”
