Two greats from their respective sports arena met on Friday night, August 25 ahead of their matches in the New York City. While the location remains undisclosed, the two sporting giants were pictured as Lionel Messi’s is in NYC for his first Major League Soccer match, whereas Djokovic is all set to begin his US Open 2023 campaign this week.
The picture which is now doing rounds on social media of the two greats of the game, was shared by the Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas. Mas took to Twitter to share the image alongside the two greats, captioning it, “What a night”.
The 36-year-old also took to Instagram to share the picture with the Argentine legend and captioned it, “Crack! Great pleasure to see you and talk to you. As always, I wish good luck and health to you and your family”.
While Messi is likely to feature in MLS since winning the Leagues Cup with Inter Miami against New York Red Bulls, World No. 2 Novak Djokovic will begin his US Open 2023 campaign against Alexandre Muller on August 29. The Serbian is coming into the US Open after winning the Cincinnati Open, beating World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 in close to four hours.
