India defeated Australia in the boxing day Test match by a huge margin of 137 runs and took a lead of 2-1 in this four-match series as they managed to post a huge total of 443/7 (decl.) in the first innings with the help of big knocks from players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli respectively.
Jasprit Bumrah won the player of the match award for taking 9 wickets (6/33 & 3/53) in this game and notably, India in this series created history by winning a Test series on Australian soil for the very first time after 12 attempts. Pujara won the Player of the Series award for scoring 521 runs from 7 innings at an average of 74.42.
