The Asia Cup 2023 has reached a crucial stage with Pakistan and India already qualifying for the Super 4s. While Pakistan became the first team to secure the Super 4s berth after their Group A clash against India, the Rohit Sharma-led confirmed their berth after a 10-wicket win over Nepal on Monday, 4 September.

While two teams from the Group B are still to be confirmed for the Super 4s after the last Group stage match scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 5 September between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Although, co-hosts Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the two likely teams to advance further into the continental tournament, more clarity on the same will be provided after the match tonight.
Ahead of the Super 4s, Bangladesh has received good news as their star batter Litton Das has joined the squad. The veteran cricketer, who missed the Group stages after suffering from viral fever, joined his side on Monday after being given clearance from the medical staff.
Bangladesh Chief Selector, Minhajul Abedin, opened up on this addition to the squad. “The Asia Cup squad has a few injury concerns, and the team management felt the need for an additional player going into the Super Four, we have received the BCB medical team’s clearance regarding Litton’s health and have decided to send him to Pakistan,” he was quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
The two qualifiers from the Group B will next play against each other on September 9 in Colombo. Meanwhile, the team which finishes B2 will play Pakistan in the first match of the Super 4s on September 6, Wednesday in Lahore.
