Litton Das, the Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter, has reportedly confirmed that he will be missing the upcoming two-match Test series against Zimbabwe to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The 30-year-old has received the NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), to play in the 2025 edition of the PSL, which is set to commence in a couple of weeks’ time on April 11, and continuing till May 18.
In his interaction with Cricbuzz, Litton Das told them that got the NOC for the full season of the PSL to be a part of Karachi Kings, just like the leg spin bowler Rishad Hossain, who is set to play for Lahore Qalandars, while the latter is not the part of the Bangladesh Test setup currently. As far as the pacer Nahid Rana is concerned, he is looking to feature in the tournament after taking part in the first Test of the two-match series for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh to play first Test vs Zimbabwe on April 20
The fast bowling sensation from Bangladesh has received a partial NOC to take part in the PSL for Peshawar Zalmi, with the BCB looking to manage his workload. Notably, the two-match Test series is set to go down between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, starting from April 20 with the first Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, while the second Test will begin on April 28 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
As the PSL’s schedule is colliding with the Test series, the comment from Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of Bangladesh ODI team, in regards to insisting the BCB to give players the NOC to be a part of different leagues has come to the surface once again. Over the past few years in cricket, with the advent of more and more T20 leagues, the national teams are struggling to keep some of their big players on multi-year contracts due to lucrative deals provided by franchise teams.
