As the IPL 2025 progresses, in match four, Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Monday, March 24. Both sides will take the field with new skippers. Wicketkeeper-batter and former DC captain Rishabh Pant will be leding LSG, whereas all-rounder Axar Patel will walk out for DC.
Furthermore, both teams will feature a plenty of new faces. Ahead of LSG’s season, there have been several injury concerns pertaining their pace attack. However, they have called in Shardul Thakur as Mohsin Khan’s replacement, Mayank Yadav’s availability is still in jeopardy. Ahead of their clash against DC, LSG have received a massive setback, which was confirmed by head coach Justin Langer.
Mayank’s rehab is back about a week or two weeks: Justin Langer shares fresh update
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Langer confirmed that Mayank Yadav’s return is further pushed back seeing he sustained a fresh toe injury. "Mayank, who everyone was very excited about last year, he was going quite well (coming back from a back injury), and he kicked his toe on the bed," Langer said.
"He got an infection in his toe. It's put his rehab back about a week or two weeks. But he's up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of his yesterday. So, hopefully by the back end of the tournament, Mayank will be up and ready to go for us," the LSG head coach added.
The 54-year-old also shared positive updates around Avesh Khan and Akash Deep, who are also struggling to get fit for the season. Speaking in the presser, Langer said, “We think Avesh Khan will pass his right to play tomorrow morning through the NCA. So, if that's the case, then he'll be back sooner rather than later. Akash Deep is up and running, and bowling at about 90% now. I believe he's done his yo-yo test. So, he's really ticking off all the boxes."
