The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) has recently announced its own premier T20 tournament, the Maharashtra Premier League which will take place in June. The tournament will adopt the successful model of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for its upcoming edition.

The auction, which took place on June 6 saw more than 200 players go under the hammer. The tournament boasts of a few important names including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kedar Jadhav, Rahul Tripathi, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Azim Kazi, and Vicky Ostwal, who were picked as icon players. The tournament will feature six franchises from the cities of Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, Sambhajinagar, Ratnagiri, and Solapur who will compete for the title.Another thing to note is the areas of Mumbaiand Vidharbha don not come under MCA there don’t have teams from those areas.
