Australian top-order batter Marnus Labuschagne will undergo scans for an apparent finger injury after being struck in the second innings against Pakistan. Playing the first Test in Perth, the hosts ended Day 3 at 84-2 with a 300-run lead. But throughout the innings, Pakistani bowlers constantly peppered the Aussies with lethal short bowling.

In the sixth over, Labuschagne was hit on his right pinky finger by a Khurram Shahzad delivery. The blow seemed significant blow as the team doctor and physiotherapist had a lengthy examination. Labuschagne got out seven balls after the hit after scoring just two runs in 18 balls.
After the third day's play, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood spoke to the media about Labuschagne going for a possible scan as he was sore. "He was just with the doc and physio for the last hour just chatting through it, doing a few tests on the finger. I daresay there might be a scan … he was pretty sore I think," Hazlewood said.

Similarly, Usman Khawaja, who was the non-striker when Labuschagne was hit, revealed that he wasn't looking good. Khawaja said, "It didn't look pretty. Marnus is a pretty tough character. When he takes his glove and starts to do that I get a bit worried because he's a pretty tough guy."
