Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal was rushed to the hospital after boarding a flight to Surat from Agartala as he suffered a major health scare. The Sunrisers Hyderabad batter has been admitted to the ICU. Agarwal is currently leading Karnataka in the ongoing 2023-24 Ranij Trophy.

Karnataka recently defeated Tripura by 29 runs in their Elite Group C fixture in Agartala. Mayank Agarwal scored 51 in 100 balls in the first innings as Karnataka posted 241 in the first innings. Tripura retaliated with 200 after which Agarwal's side set a 192-run target. Karnataka then emerged victorious thanks to Vidwath Kaverappa's four-wicket haul and Vijaykumar Vyshak's three wickets.
Mayank Agarwal admitted to ICU in Agartala
Media reports claim that Agarwal complained of a burning sensation in his mouth and throat and hence was taken to the hospital. Agarwal is currently in the ICU of the ILS hospital in Agartala and is said to be out of any danger. As per PTI, Agarwal underwent some tests as he had vomited and felt unease. He is under observation and Tripura Cricket Association officials are at the hospital. The Karnataka captain will miss the next game against Saurashtra.

So far in the 2024 Ranji Trophy, Mayank Agarwal has so far scored 310 runs in four matches. Agarwal is averaging 44.28 at a strike-rate of 67.39 with a highest score of 114. Coming into this season, Agarwal emerged as the highest run-scorer in Ranji Trophy 2023 with a tally of 990 runs in nine matches, with three centuries and six half-centuries. Thanks to this performance, Agarwal received the Madhavrao Scindia Award at the recent BCCI awards in Hyderabad.
