Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal shared a health update a day after being hospitalised for drinking poisonous liquid on a flight. While sharing his update from the Agartala Hospital, the Karnataka captain said that he is feeling better now. After he settled into his New Delhi-bound flight, the cricketer mistook a liquid for water and consumed it, after which he suffered oral irritation and ulcers.
The 32-year-old was rushed to a private hospital in Agartala and was monitored for some time. Agarwal shared an update from the hospital and confirmed that he is out of danger. The cricketer shared two pictures of himself lying on the hospital bed, and tweeted, "I am feeling better now. Gearing to come back. Thanks for your prayers, love, and support, everyone."
Agarwal to be discharged from hospital on Wednesday
As per the reports from India Today, the cricketer will be discharged from the hospital on January 31, Wednesday. However, as per the Karnataka team manager Ramesh, the cricketer wouldn’t be able to speak for 48 hours due to swelling on lips and ulcers. Ramesh told India Today, "We were about to take off, and Mayank felt thirsty. So, he drank water kept behind the seat pocket in front of his seat. After a few minutes, he realised that his throat was itching, and he felt the urge to vomit. Consequently, he rushed to the washroom near the cockpit and informed the air hostess.”
He added, "The air hostess immediately rang the emergency bell and checked if there was any doctor available on the flight. Unfortunately, there was no doctor, so the pilot was informed, and a message was sent to the airport authority. Doctors came to see him, and they said, 'We can't provide first aid here; he needs to be hospitalised.' An ambulance arrived, and he was taken to the hospital."
