The Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been handed a good news ahead of their fixture against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Lucknow-based franchise will soon be strengthened in their pace attack with Mayank Yadav set to join the side this week.

Sources close to the development have informed that Mayank Yadav has recovered from his injuries and is likely to join the side on Tuesday, April 15. It is to be noted that the tearaway pacer, who was find of the tournament in IPL 2024, has been out since the start of the cash-rich league due to his rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

The pace sensation, who was retained by the franchise for INR 11 Crore, has reportedly received a green signal from the Centre of Excellence. Sources have informed that Yadav is fit to play, but a final call will rest with LSG coaching staff as they will be monitoring him closely during the tournament.

"Mayank Yadav has recovered completely and his fitness report is fine. He will join the team's training camp on April 15. The decision on which match he will play for Lucknow next will be decided by the coach of the Lucknow team and his coaching staff," the source was quoted as saying by Sports Tak.

It is to be noted that the 22-year-old has been out of action since he suffered a lumbar stress injury during his international debut series against Bangladesh last year. His return will not only bolster their pace attack, LSG will hope to continue their winning streak, having won three matches on the trot lately. The Rishabh Pant-led side will host CSK in their seventh match in the ongoing season in Lucknow.
