Veteran AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been known for making outlandish statements which often stir up the footballing world. Over the years, the former Manchester United forward has given some savage quotes and recently added another one to his massive tally. While speaking to Canal +, the 41-year-old  had some choice words for one of his former team.

In the interview, the Swedish frontman was talking about how Paris Saint-Germain and the French Ligue 1 have gone down in quality despite having global star players in the league.  Ibrahimovic also referred to himself as a ‘God’.

He said, "Since I left France, everything has gone downhill. There is nothing to talk about anymore in France. France needs me, I don't need France. Even if you have Mbappe, Neymar and Messi, it doesn't help you because you don't have God."

Ibrahimovic had an incredible career for the Parisians, where he registered 156 goals and 61 assists. He also went on to win four consecutive Ligue 1 titles in his tenure. He then moved to the Premier League in England, USA’s Major League Soccer before returning to AC Milan in the Serie A.

The Swede, at age 41, is one of the oldest players in the European top flight and questions about his retirement often surface. While speaking in a recent interview with CNN’s Becky Anderson, reiterated his passion for the sport and hinted at possibly playing for some more time. “I have a big passion for my game,” the AC Milan forward told in an interview.

“I have a different situation now with my age and with the teammates I have, but I’m enjoying every day because I think, when you stop football, you will miss it so much that you don’t want to have any regrets saying I should have kept playing,” added Ibrahimović, whose contract with Milan runs until June 30, 2023.
