McLaren presented a special livery for the forthcoming United States Grand Prix weekend. After Haas and Alpine, the team became the third side to launch a special livery, as they uncovered the ‘fan favourite’ chrome livery. The team collaborated with team partner Google and created the second edition of the livery, which was first reimagined at Silverstone in 2023. The livery is a nod to some of the former cars of McLaren and is being featured in their ‘Chrome Shines Again’ campaign.

In addition to Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s cars, drivers’ race suits will also have a few touches of chrome throughout the event at the Circuit of The Americas. Ahead of the next weekend’s round of racing, McLaren is leading the Constructors’ Championship by a 41-point lead over Red Bull. Speaking of the drivers, Norris trails Max Verstappen by 52 points while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is standing on the third spot with 86 points.

McLaren describes Chrome livery as “modern twist to represent the team’s enduring legacy”

McLaren has described the Chrome rivalry as “a modern twist to represent the team’s enduring legacy, with the enhanced chrome representing the two brands’ pursuit of innovative design.” McLaren’s Team Principal Andrea Stella talked about the upcoming race and said, “After a busy few weeks back at the factory to consolidate and strengthen our championship campaign, we now head to Austin for the first of two triple headers.”

He added, “We’re only six races away from the end of the season but there are still a lot of points on the table. Many teams will be bringing updates in these final races, so we expect some close competition, but as always, we keep our heads down, focus on ourselves and look to consistently deliver points in our quest for both titles.”
