The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the updated T20I player rankings during the T20 World Cup 2024, which saw the Afghan  Mohammad Nabi rise to the top spot in the all-rounder category. The 39-year-old benefitted from his performances in the two comprehensive wins in the T20 World Cup Group C from Afghanistan, replacing Shakib Al Hasan in the first place.

Mohammad Nabi, who was in third place in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings, jumped two places in the latest update, going past Shakib Al Hasan, who fell four places to the fifth spot. After playing a critical role in the T20 World Cup 2024 opening win against Oman, the Australian Marcus Stoinis claimed second spot in the all-rounder rankings.

In the batting rankings for the T20I format, Suryakumar Yadav stays in top spot, while Phil Salt continues to be in second place as well. Babar Azam moved into third place at the expense of his Pakistani teammate Mohammad Rizwan despite the fact that they have won only one match out of three in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Adil Rashid kept hold of the top spot in the ICC T20I bowling rankings, while Wanindu Hasaranga managed to remain in second place, irrespective of the tough start to the T20 World Cup campaign for their countries. Rashid Khan, Anrich Nortje, and Fazalhaq Farooqi jumped multiple places each to find themselves behind the top two bowlers in the rankings chart.

As the T20 World Cup 2024 moves into the second half, there could be a lot of changes in the ICC T20I player rankings, depending on the performances of the players and their respective teams.
