One of the most successful Indian captains, and favourite cricketers across the globe, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for showing minimum or no emotions on and off the field. He always has his emotions under the check and has rarely been spotted letting them out. It is MS Dhoni’s emotionally impassable personality that makes him a tough player, and impossible to predict his next move. However, his former teammate, the former India and CSK player Harbhajan Singh talked about an incident when the former India skipper couldn’t control his emotions and cried being surrounded by his teammates.

Known for keeping cricket above any other personal interest, the love affair between MS Dhoni and the Chennai-based franchise in the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings, is known to everyone. He has been associated with the Yellow Brigade since the induction year and led the team to win four IPL titles. In a video shared by Star Sports, Singh shared an incident when Dhoni cried in front of his teammates, in 2018, when the team made a comeback after two years of ban.

Not only this but also CSK former spinner Imran Tahir joined ‘Bhajji Pa’ and validated the story. He even said that it was the moment they got to know how close CSK is to Dhoni’s heart. Talking about the incident, he said, "There is a story which I want to share. Back in 2018, when CSK made a comeback to this league after a 2-year ban, there was a team dinner. I have heard the saying that 'Men don't cry', but MS Dhoni cried on that night. He became emotional. I think no one knows about this. Right, Imran (Tahir)?"

"Yes, of course," Tahir said. "Even I was there. It was a very emotional moment for him (MS Dhoni). Looking at him like that, I came to know how close this team is to his heart. He considers the team as his family. It was very emotional for all of us."

The South African cricketer even went on to say that it was a proud moment for all of them when they lifted the trophy even after they were mocked and called ‘Daddy’s Army’. Speaking of this season, the four-time champions are set to clash against the reigning champions, Gujarat Titans, in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023, on May 23, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
