British tennis ace Jack Draper settled the GOAT debate among tennis greats Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. However, Draper really found it difficult to pick the greatest player of all as he found it difficult to pick between Serbian Novak Djokovic and Spanish legend Rafael Nadal. Notably, together with Roger Federer, Djokovic and Nadal are known as the Big Three of tennis. While the Serb has won 24 Grand Slams, Nadal has won 22 Majors.
Not only this, but Djokovic also holds a 31-29 record against the Spaniard. Draper recently appeared in an interview with Sky Sports Tennis, where he was asked to choose the GOAT from Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Serena Williams. The World No. 15 distinguished Williams from the Big Three and hesitantly selected Djokovic. Draper said, "My heart is Rafa Nadal but who do I think is the best tennis player of all time, I mean, let’s just separate Serena out because she’s the female GOAT.”
The Brit added, "And then out of these three… when I was growing up, every kit, every new look was him, he was just so iconic. Obviously, being a left-hander like myself. My head says Novak. My heart is Rafa but for me, the GOAT is obviously Novak Djokovic."
I always have to try and have a positive outlook on things: Jack Draper
The young tennis ace who is racing against time to be in his best shape for the Australian Open next month opened up on his struggles. The tennis player said that he is “very positive” about competing at the first Grand Slam of the year. Draper said, “That’s the thing in sports, sometimes you have these disappointments, you have these little challenges and little setbacks that come your way, and you have to think about how you are gonna make the most of that. In my mind, I’m thinking that I always have to try and have a positive outlook on things.”
He added, “There’s many young athletes who I’ve seen over the years, and I’ve heard stories about, who have these little niggles at a younger age. They don’t do much about it, they don’t explore it, and then it becomes a big problem when they get older.”
