The rain spoiled day one of the third Test between Australia and India at the Gabba in Brisbane. After Australia scored 28/0 in 13.2 overs, the match was stopped, and there was no play due to persistent rain and wet outfield. Apart from that, there was also a moment of frustration for the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah as he couldn’t find swing while bowling on day one.
Jasprit Bumrah tried to alter his length, pitch it further up, in an attempt to move the ball and trouble Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney. However, the Indian pacer couldn’t find swing. In frustration, Bumrah was caught saying “Nahi ho raha swing, kahin bhi kar (It's not swinging, should bowl anywhere)” to Shubman Gill on the stump mic as shown in a viral video shared by Star Sports on X.
Australian fans put Rishabh Pant’s masks, groove to dhol beats during day 1 of Gabba Test
During day one of the third Test at the Gabba, the Australian fans from the stands paid tribute to Rishabh Pant by putting on his masks and grooving on the beats of dhol. Notably, the Gabba holds a very special place in the hearts of Indian fans. Notably, during the last BGT in Australia in 2020-21, Pant played a memorable knock of 89 runs at Gabba as India registered a famous series win down under that year.
It was a special win for India after getting all out for just 36 runs in the first Test in Adelaide. Playing without their regular skipper Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane took charge of the injury-filled Indian cricket team. India showed a great fight in the last three Tests and ended up winning the Test series by 2-1. Along with that, India defeated Australia at Gabba in 2021, a venue where Australia hadn’t lost a Test for more than 30 years before that.
