Naseem Shah, one of the top fast bowlers from Pakistan, is all set to move to Islamabad United from Quetta Gladiators in one of the biggest trade deals in the history of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). With this new development, the rumours and speculations around the next destination for the 20-year-old in the PSL are now over.

A report from ESPNcricinfo detailed that there were at least three PSL teams looking to sign Naseem Shah for the next season of the franchise T20 tournament, but at the very end, Islamabad United have trumped all. Just a few days ago, it seemed as if Multan Sultans would be able to bring Naseem Shah to the franchise, with an official statement to announce the move, but in the end, the interest of Islamabad United for the player caught up with them.

Notably, since making his debut in the PSL with Quetta Gladiators in 2020, Naseem Shah wasn’t able to reach the playoffs of the franchise T20 tournament, which reportedly led to him to move away from the team. In his four years in the PSL, he has played 29 matches, picking up only 26 wickets, which is stark contrast to his impressive career at the T20I level for Pakistan.

Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr to move the other way as part of Naseem Shah’s trade deal

The Pakistani bowling duo of Abrar Ahmed and Mohammed Wasim Jr are expected to move to Quetta Gladiators from Islamabad United as part of Naseem Shah’s trade deal before the PSL transfer window gets shut. ESPNcricinfo has reported that while both the PSL teams “are yet to formally approve the transfer, the deal is now almost certainly a formality.
