The five-time NBA All-Star, a four-time member of the All-NBA Team, and a three-time member of the All-Defensive Team, Joel Embiid has recently received his French citizenship making him eligible to play for the France national team.

The fans are even more excited with the recent development, which would allow Embiid pair up with fellow 7-footer NBA star Rudy Gobert at the French national team. The French manager, Boris Diaw has eagerly anticipated the association of Philadelphia 76ers star with the French team.

In an interview with RMC Sport, the French manager, Boris Diaw, "He doesn’t have the FIBA license yet. But it would be nice if he could have this license and play for the France team."

France bagged silver medal in the recently concluded FIBA EuroBasket 2022 after losing to World No.2 Spain in the finals in Berlin. Boris Diaw has further revealed to enlist Embiid without any hesitation to enhance the France squad and possibly win titles for the country.

Diaw said, "We know that he has become French so why not, we try to have as many good players as possible and then make a team that holds its own and plays well together."

The two seven feet giants, Joel Embiid and Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert playing together for the same team would be a rare and exciting sight for the fans.
