Bangladesh, on Tuesday, September 3, created history with their first-ever Test series win against Pakistan. After a comprehensive 10-wicket win in the first Test in Rawalpindi, the visitors continued to dominate the hosts and ended up winning the second Test match by six wickets to clinch the two-match Test series by 2-0. This was Pakistan’s third Test series loss at home in the last 30 months.
Starting day five with 42 for no loss, Bangladesh went on to lose four wickets and chased the target of 185 runs in the second session with Shakib Al Hasan hitting the winning runs along with Mushfiqur Rahim standing on the other end. Litton Das was adjudged Player of the Match for his 138(228) runs in the first innings which helped Bangladesh to get close to Pakistan’s first innings total, whereas Mehidy Hasan Miraz was awarded with the Player of the Series for his all-round performance with 155 runs and 10 wickets in two matches.
