New Delhi is set to become the center of India’s esports scene in February 2025 as it  is scheduled to  host the grand finals of the first-ever WAVES Esports Championship (WESC 2025). The tournament is organised by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) and supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. 

WAVES Esports Championship (WESC 2025) 

Gamers from all over India will compete in games like eFootball, World Cricket Championship (WCC), and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The full schedule and registration details are yet to be revealed:

  • Qualifiers - September 2024
  • Grand Finals - 5th to 9th February 2025 

WESC 2025 is a big step for India’s esports scene. The tournament will start with qualifiers from September 2024 and run until January 2025, with the final event in February. It will include both team-based and individual competitions. BGMI will have team events, while eFootball and WCC will focus on individual players.

The Esports Federation of India recently unveiled the logo for the WAVES Esports Championship 2025. Designed in Ocean Blue, the logo represents trust, inspiration, and confidence.

By bringing together top talent, industry stakeholders, and government support, we aim to showcase the potential of Indian esports on a global stage. WESC 2025 is not just about winning; it’s about nurturing a culture of excellence, content creation and innovation in esports."
