With the ODI World Cup 2023 less than a month away, the New Zealand Cricket (NCZ) has named their 15-member squad for this edition. The marquee tournament is set to be hosted entirely in India for the first time, starting October 5.

The Black Caps has some surprise inclusions with veteran Kane Williamson returning to the side after regaining complete fitness. The 33-year-old, who sustained a horrific injury during the IPL 2023 opener between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad, however,  continues to recover, will lead the side in the CWC.

 

 

Additionally, Tom Latham has been named Williamson’s deputy for the marquee tournament with Rachin Ravindra also finding a place after his recent brilliant spells.

 

The 2015 and 2019 runners-up of the ODI World Cup, New Zealand will kick start their campaign against defending champions England at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 5. However, ahead of their tournament opener, the Williamson-led side will play against Pakistan in a warm-up match on September 29 in Hyderabad.
