New Zealand Cricket (NZC) are reportedly sending a security delegation to Pakistan ahead of the five-match T20I series, scheduled for April this year. This will be a reciprocal visit from the New Zealand team to Pakistan after hosting them earlier this year for five T20I matches, which they won by a 4-1 margin.

As per the Times of India report, the reliable source within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed that the security delegation will have the private security expert Reg Dickason and the senior official of the New Zealand Players Association in Heath Mills. The source stated, “The delegation is due in early March to visit Lahore and Rawalpindi where the matches will probably be held.”

Notably, Reg Dickason is a seasoned security consultant who has previously worked with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and many other cricket boards during their cricket tours to Pakistan in recent years.

The report further stated that the security delegation will inspect match venues and team hotels and conduct meetings with government and security officials to review and enhance security arrangements for the visiting team. The security assessment is being done after the New Zealand limited overs team returned home from Pakistan in September 2021 without playing any match because of a security threat.

Notably, the upcoming visit from New Zealand to Pakistan for the five-match T20I series is not part of the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP).
