Amidst the Kylian Mbappe saga, Paris Saint Germain are caught in another limbo with Brazilian forward Neymar Jr., who has reportedly asked to leave the club. But in a sigh of relief for the Parisians, the former Barcelona star’s father, Neymar Sr. has issued a statement regarding the matter. The 31-year-old has been in news over the last two years regarding his intention of leaving PSG after comments made by some members of the club’s ownership group regarding his commitment and fitness.

But despite these reports, Neymar has been a crucial part of the club’s function and had a 2022-23 season with 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 appearances for PSG. With the Brazilian still being one of the best attacking players in the world, there have been reports of big offers from some top European clubs.
But shutting down these speculations, Neymar’s father stated, “ I cannot confirm a piece of news that did not happen. It came from somewhere, let’s try to understand the intention.” reacting to a question about a request to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer as per PL Brasil.
Despite the comment, ESPN has reported about Neymar hoping for a return to Barcelona. However reports allude to an ongoing debate among the club’s top brass regarding the Brazilian forward. Coach Xavi Hernandes believes Neymar wouldn’t fit the current Barca structure. However, club president Joan Laporta would be taking the final call.

Similarly, reports about PSG hoping for a permanent transfer at a price of €60 million which could include an initial loan deal. In clubs lining up for Neymar, Chelsea have held talks over the potential transfer of Paris Saint-Germain forward according to RMC Sport.
