Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has reportedly agreed to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal on a two-season contract, in what could be one of the most shocking transfers in football history. The Brazilian forward will receive a staggering €160m in total for his services, making him one of the highest-paid players in the world.

According to several reports, Neymar has already given his consent to the move, and it now remains for PSG and Al-Hilal to finalize the terms of the transfer. Al-Hilal has made a first offer to buy out the remaining four years of Neymar’s contract with PSG. PSG are expected to demand a higher fee, as they are reluctant to lose their star player.

Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for a world-record €222m, and has since scored 118 goals and provided 77 assists in 173 appearances for the French giants. He has won five Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, two French League Cups, and four French Super Cups with PSG. He also helped PSG reach their first-ever Champions League final in 2020, where they lost to Bayern Munich.

However, Neymar has also faced criticism for his injury problems, disciplinary issues, and lack of commitment to PSG. He has been linked with a return to Barcelona several times, but the deal never materialized. He recently signed a contract extension with PSG until 2025, but it seems that he has decided to change his mind and decided to join Al-Hilal.
