Former Indian batter turned commentator, Mohammed Kaif was utterly disappointed by the shot played by the Australian wicket-keeper Josh Inglis against Afghanistan in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Chasing a daunting 292-run total, Australia were in trouble after being reduced to 43-2 in the first six overs.

Two overs later, Azmatullah Omarzai continued the Afghani juggernaut as he cleaned up David Warner with an incredible delivery. Then on the next delivery, Omarzai sent out an outswinger on a back of a length delivery. Here, Inglis, playing his first ball, played away from his body and gave a simple catch to the first slip fielder. Reacting to this shot, Kaif said, " Nihayati Kharab Shot (translation- utterly bad shot)."
Talking about the shot played by David Warner , Mohammed Kaif had a similar reaction. Kaif spoke about how Warner didn't seem like a top-order batter playing this shot. He said, " The kind of shot David Warner played, it never looked like he is a top-order batter."
In comparison to Australia, Afghanistan's top-order had an incredible batting effort led by opener Ibrahim Zadran who scored a stunning 121-run knock. Playing 143 balls, Zadran held one end up as he hit eight fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 90.21.
