With the 18th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) set to kickstart from March 22, all franchises are gearing up for some exciting matches. While the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be entering as the defending champions, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) cannot be put aside with the strength they boast of.

Ahead of the season opener, the Hyderabad-based franchise have received a massive boost with their star player Nitish Kumar Reddy cleared to join the side. It is to be noted that Reddy suffered a side strain during India’s T20I series against England in January 2025, adding worries in the SRH camp ahead of the cash-rich league.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, Reddy has been cleared by the medical wing of BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He has been cleared to play the first match for the franchise, which is scheduled to be played on Sunday, March 23 against Rajasthan Royals. While this update comes as a sigh of relief, he will be joining the side on Sunday, March 16.

The 21-year-old cleared the yo-yo test on Saturday and scored 18.5 which is well above the cut off mark of 16. He also played a full practice match and bowled full title without showing any signs of worry.
