After the video of Team India’s practice sessions from Tuesday, December 3 went viral, the visitors have taken stern steps to hold the net sessions behind closed doors. With the pink-ball Test just days away from start, the Men in Blue have written to Cricket Australia after their practice session of Tuesday, December 3 saw fans flock in large numbers.
During the practice session on Tuesday, the team was not contended after a group of fans tried to heckle them demanding a six, a four, while others showered some comments. Seeing these distractions, reports have surfaced that Indian cricket team shared their thought with the CA and would not host the trainings open to public.
“India have expressed a preference for their remaining training sessions not to be open to the public to minimise potential noise or distractions,” a CA spokesperson told The Age on Wednesday, December 4. As per reports citing India Today, the host board is not expected to schedule an open practice further in the ongoing tour.
Very different. Not used to it: KL Rahul on practicing with packed stadiums
While this stance remains at one point, India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul also opened on the same while addressing the press on Wednesday, December 4. “Very different. Not used to it,” KL Rahul told reporters on Wednesday.
“We have practice with crowds but it’s mostly T20 or ODIs back home, we’ve crowds come in and watch our practice sessions. So it felt a little different but also it adds to your preparation for the Test match and gives us a bit of what we can expect on day one or all the days here in Adelaide, so it was good,” he further added.
