New Zealand are taking on South Africa in Match 32 of the ODI World Cup 2023. After winning the toss, the Tom Latham-led side opted to field first with the Proteas unleashing their prowess to put 357/4 in their 50-overs, courtesy centuries from Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen and a quickfire half-century from David Miller.

However, the South Africa inning saw one of the Kiwi players getting injured and walking off the field. New Zealand pacer Matt Henry sustained a hamstring injury to add to the list of injuries in the Kiwi squad. While the New Zealand team tried hard to strap his hamstring, Henry walked off the field in the 27 th over of Protean inning with just three balls in his sixth over.
The Blackcaps took to X to share an update on Matt Henry’s injury confirming that he felt some tightness in his right hamstring during his sixth over. Further updating on it, the Blackcaps confirmed that he will not take the field in the remainder of the match.
“Following further assessment, he will not return to the field at this stage,” the Blackcaps wrote on X.
It is to be noted that a win for the Protean side in Pune will take them to the top of the standings, whereas a win for Tom Latham-led side will keep them in the semifinals race, but they will continue at the third place only.
