Shreyas Iyer is another name added to team India's 'best fielding medal' contention in the ongoing edition of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue locked horns with table toppers New Zealand during the 21st fixture of the ICC event on October 22, Sunday, at the HPCA Stadium, Dharmshala. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came on top of the toss battle over the rival skipper Tom Latham and invited the travellers to bat first.

Kiwis, like their Indian counterparts, came off an unbeaten four-match streak and were looking forward to dominating their rivals right from the beginning. However, it seemed that the home favourites had some other plans. Mohammed Siraj sent back Devon Conway for a duck, courtesy of Shreyas Iyer's sharp catch during the fourth over.
Iyer displayed brilliant fielding skills and after the catch signalled for the 'best fielding medal' towards the fielding coach, T Dilip.
