As the final date of announcing the squad and making the changes approaches, the Sri Lanka Cricket is the latest cricket board to name their 15-member squad for the ODI World Cup 2023. The tournament, which is the 13 th edition of the Cricket World Cup, will be held entirely in India for the first time from October 5 to November 19.

The Sri Lanka Cricket have named Dasun Shanka as their skipper after there were reports of him being dropped from captaincy earlier. The squad also includes the Maheesh Theekshana who was struggling with injury during the Asia Cup 2023. However, one of the prominent names missing in the squad was of Wanindu Hasaranga, who failed to regain fitness in time for the marquee event.
Additionally, Sri Lanka will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
