India are taking on reigning champions England at the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 in Lucknow. While the Men in Blue are taking the field after a week-long break after winning the match against New Zealand. But as the Men in Blue took the field, the player were seen sporting black armbands in honour of late Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Singh.

The legendary leg-spinner passed away at the age of 77 on October 23, Monday. The former India skipper played 67 Tests for India between 1967 and 1979 and scalped seven wickets in ten ODIs. The veteran cricketer was instrumental in India’s first ODI win.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to X to share the update on the team wearing the black armbands, stating, “#TeamIndia will be wearing Black Armbands in memory of the legendary Bishan Singh Bedi before the start of the play against England in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.”
