The Men in Blue finally got back into the game after losing the first two T20Is of the five-match series. Skipper Hardik Pandya finished off things in style as he hit the winning runs for his side, winning the match by seven wickets. With this win, the five-match T20I series currently stands 1-2.

While Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant inning of 44-ball 83 during his stay at the crease, Hardik Pandya left Tilak Varma stranded at the non-striker’s end to finish with a six off Rovman Powell in the 18th over. This gesture of skipper Hardik Pandya did not go down well with the fans and even reminded them the incident from 2014.
Notably, former India skipper MS Dhoni in 2014 had blocked the last bowl to give Virat Kohli the chance to finish the match against South Africa in the T20 World Cup semifinal.
Fans were left fuming by this gesture of Pandya on August 8, Tuesday when Hardik denied a chance to Varma. While some termed it to be “pathetic and shameless”, a few others lashed out at the skipper.

Talking about the match, West Indies had won the toss and opted to bat first. The Rovman Powell-led side put up 159/5 in their 20 overs with Brandon King finishing as the top-scorer for his side (42 off 42). However, a brilliant knock from Suryakumar Yadav (83 off 44 balls) and an unbeaten 49 from Tilak Varma helped the Men in Blue seal the match.
The two sides will next lock horns in the fourth T20I on August 12 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill.
