Pacer, Olly Stone will leave the England team midway during their tour of Pakistan for his wedding, which is set to take place this weekend. The news was confirmed on Tuesday, October 8, confirming that he will leave the team for his wedding which was already planned.

With Olly Stone leaving the side midway during the first Test in Multan, he will remain doubtful for the second Test, which is scheduled to be played from October 15 at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. However, the exact date of Stone’s return is yet to be disclosed, it remains uncertain whether he will come just in time for the next match.

Olly Stone to leave squad to get married

The England pacer, who made his return in Test cricket after three years, scalped seven wickets in two matches against Sri Lanka last month. After his brilliant run in the 2-1 Test series win against the Lankans, Stone retained his place for the three-match Test series against Pakistan. Although the 30-year-old wasn’t named in the Playing XI for the ongoing first Test, he remains doubtful to feature in the next match in Multan.

"We booked the wedding on the basis of me only playing for Notts at the time," Stone told the BBC. "Jess said she was happy to move the wedding and I was adamant on keeping it where it was if possible. For what she has given up and sacrificed for me, I thought the least I could do was to try and make it work," Stone further added.

Joe Root, who is also in Pakistan for the three-match Test series extended his wishes on this step. "It's a special time in anyone's life. I'm really excited for him. I'm sure he is all over the place with everything that's going on, but it'll be very special for him - and his wife - starting a different chapter in his life. We'll all be raising a cold water to him at some point, celebrating," Root said.
