Star Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is celebrating his 34th birthday on January 8, 2025. Making his international debut in 2010, Hazlewood has been a spearhead fast bowler for Australia across all formats in the last few years. He has been a crucial player of the Aussies in Test and is constant wicket taker in big Test series like Ashes against England and Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. 

Josh Hazlewood made his international debut for Australia in an ODI against England in Southampton on June 22, 2010. Since then, he went on to play 72 Tests, 91 ODIs and 52 T20Is for Australia so far taking 484 wickets in all three formats combined. He was also a part of the  Australian squad that won the ODI World Cup in 2015 and 2023, T20 World Cup in 2021 and the World Test Championship in 2023. He also won the IPL with Chennai Super Kings in 2021.

Josh Hazlewood made his international debut at the age of 19 years. Three years after his ODI debut, Hazlewood also got a chance to make his T20I debut in 2013. An year later, Hazlewood became Australia’s all format after he made his Test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy down under. He was impressive in his debut Test series against India finishing a fourth highest wicket taker in the series with 12 scalps in three matches. After a few months, Hazlewood won the home ODI World Cup in Australia.

In 2015, Josh Hazlewood also went on to play his debut Ashes series in England, where he finished as the third highest wicket taker of the series with 16 wickets in four matches. Hazlewood has taken 279 wickets in 72 matches in his Test career so far. Apart from that, the fast bowler has scalped 138 wickets in 91 ODIs and 67 wickets in 52 T20I matches.

Talking about his IPL career, Josh Hazlewood made his debut in the cash-rich league for Chennai Super Kings in 2020. He got to play three matches in that season taking one scalp. In IPL 2021, Hazlewood took 11 wickets in nine matches and played a monumental role in CSK’s fourth title win. He was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of IPL 2022 and scalped 20 wickets in 12 matches. He was released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2024. Now, Hazlewood will be seen playing for RCB again in IPL 2025.
