The WWE Hall of Famer Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart has had a career like no one else in the pro wrestling industry. The former champion has seen it all in the business; however, no other wrestler had the charisma quite like ‘The Hitman’ back in the day.
It’s been 30 years since Hart won his first WWF title. The victory was one of the biggest highlights of 1992, and the wrestling industry is still celebrating Hart’s victory against Ric Flair. B ret Hart took to his Facebook profile and wrote a beautiful message about his victory that night.
Hart expressed how in the year 1992, his wrestling career changed forever. He addressed that he won the Intercontinental Championship from ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper, and headlined the SummerSlam PPV against Davey Boy Smith. However, nothing compares to his victory against Ric Flair in a house show in his hometown, Canada.
“This moment 30 years today, however, was the culmination of all the hard work and sacrifice made since I first entered WWE in 1984. Winning the WWE title from Ric Flair in Saskatoon and holding that belt up perched on the second rope looking at the faces of my fans from long ago was the single greatest moment of my career. The moment it happened, I knew no one could ever take it away or deny me that beautiful moment in time.”
One notable thing about that night was that it wasn’t a TV show or a PPV where Hart won the title. It was at a house show in Saskatoon, Canada. Legendary wrestling figure, Gorilla Monsoon, immortalized Hart’s victory with his powerful words on commentary that night.
“We’ve seen history made! It’s pandemonium in Saskatoon!”, said Gorilla.
The fact that Hart took to his social media and shared this memory, even after the infamous ‘Montreal Screwjob’, shows that the WWE Hall of Famer has buried the hatchet and is proud of this time under Vince McMahon’s WWF/WWE.
