
Australian cricketer Chris Lynn is celebrating his 35th birthday on April 10, 2025. He hasn’t been seen in action in international cricket from the last seven years but is active in domestic cricket in Australia. Lynn is known for his fiery batting, especially in T20 cricket but once was also a regular player in the IPL.
Chris Lynn has played four ODIs and 18 T20Is for Australia so far, amassing 366 runs in both the formats combined. Talking about his career in franchise cricket, Lynn has amassed 3955 runs from 127 matches in the Big Bash League along with 1329 runs from 43 matches in IPL.
Chris Lynn's IPL career
Chris Lynn got his first IPL contract in 2011 after Deccan Chargers roped him in for ₹ 920,000 in the auction. However, he got to make his debut in the cash-rich league in 2012, where he could play only one game. In 2014, Chris Lynn joined Kolkata Knight Riders after the franchise bought him for INR 1.3 Crore.
Chris Lynn played for KKR for five years and was also a part of the franchise’s title campaign in 2014. He also comes in the list of the batters to smash the fastest fifty in IPL history. The opening batter smashed a fifty of just 19 balls in a match against Gujarat Lions as KKR chased the target of 184 runs without losing any wicket in 14.5 over. Lynn scored 93*(41) runs in that game, hitting six fours and eight sixes.
Chris Lynnn last played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021 after the five-time champions roped him in ahead of IPL 2020. He has scored 1329 runs from 43 matches in the IPL along with 10 fifties at an average of 34.07 and a strike rate of 140.63.
