Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Eastern Cape went on to lift the second consecutive title in the South Africa T20 League at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on February 10, 2024. Coming out victorious in the inaugural season in 2023, the Sunrisers went on to successfully defend their title in SA20 2024 season, defeating Durban Super Giants by a big margin of 89 runs in the final. 

Coming as defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape had a dominant season in SA20 2024. They finished at the top of the points table after the league stage with seven wins in 10 matches. In the playoffs stage, the Sunrisers registered a convincing win over Durban Super Giants by 69 runs, to become the first side to qualify for the final in SA20 2024. Now, they were scheduled to face Super Giants again in the final.

Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen guided Sunrisers Eastern Cape to 2nd consecutive SA20 title win

Talking about the match, batting first, Sunrisers Eastern Cape posted 204/3 in their 20 overs. Opener Jordan Hermann gave a good start with 42(26) runs, hitting four fours and a maximum. Tom Abell also provided support from the other end with a knock of 55(34) runs with eight fours and two sixes. After that, skipper Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs gave finishing touches as the Sunrisers crossed the 200-run mark. Markram remained unbeaten on 42*(26) with three fours and two sixes, while Stubbs top scored with 56*(30), hitting four fours and two sixes. 

Chasing the winning target, Durban Super Giants kept losing wickets at regular intervals. For Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Marco Jansen registered the figures of 5/30. At last, the Super Giants were bowled out for 115 runs in 17 overs, with Wiaan Mulder top scoring with 38(22) runs. For Sunrisers, Daniel Worral and Ottniel Baartman scalped two wickets each, while Simon Harmer put one in his bag.
