A 21-year-old woman was arrested last week for killing her sibling as the latter was flirting with her long-distance boyfriend. Fatiha Marzan from Orlando, Florida reportedly stabbed her 20-year-old sister Sayma Marzan multiple times in the heart at 4:30 a.m on 26 September with a dagger she purchased off Amazon.

This incident took place after Fatiha discovered that the 20-year-old had been chatting and flirting with her unidentified long-distance boyfriend of five years through an online multiplayer game called Valorant which they used to play together.

According to the arrest affidavit, Fatiha also considered killing herself after she killed her sister but was stopped by a close family member who advised her about not making such an irrational decision. After committing the crime, Marzan called 911 and confessed to the police.

She also admitted to stabbing her sister three to four times in the heart out of jealousy. Marzan had been planning this murder two weeks before and had purchased a knife from Amazon. She then hid the dagger in a backpack so that she could use it when everyone was sleeping.

According to her own confession, the crime took place in the bedroom that the siblings shared. At 4:30 am, when Fatiha found out that everyone else in the house was asleep. She took the knife out of the backpack and allegedly stabbed her sister while she was asleep. She called 911 after 15 hours and turned herself in for her sister's death.

The affidavit in relation to the case stated, "Fatiha knew she had to wait until her family was asleep to stab Sayma because she did not want anyone to hear the incident. Fatiha consciously decided to kill her sister, Sayma, and the decision was present in her mind at the time of the killing."

“Fatiha said her sister, Sayma, had been trying to steal her boyfriend for the past year. Fatiha recently found out that her boyfriend would flirt back with Sayma and told her that he loved her," the affidavit continued.
