Ashwin reacted to Overton’s attempt to mankad Allen on his social media and reminded fans of his famous mankading incident with Jos Buttler in IPL 2019.
Reacting to the mankading attempt by Jamie Overton in BBL 2024-25, R Ashwin wrote “Our vibe shall attract the tribe Jamie” on his social media. Notably, Ashwin was also involved in an infamous mankading incident against Jos Buttler in IPL 2019. Playing for Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings), Ashwin mankade Rajasthan Royals’ batter who stepped out of the crease on the non-striker. The off-spinner didn’t give any warning and appealed for a wicket. Eventually, Buttler was given out and left for the pavilion with disappointment on his face.
Perth Scorchers defeat Adelaide Strikers to get their 3rd win in BBL 2024-25
Talking about the match, Perth Scorchers comfortably defeated Adelaide Strikers by seven wickets to register their third win in BBL 2024-25. Batting first, Adelaide Strikers posted 142/8 in their 20 overs, with Brendon Doggett top scoring with 47(39) runs hitting five fours and two sixes. For Perth Scorchers, Jhye Richardson took three scalps, Jason Behrendorff and Lance Morris scalped two wickets each while Andrew Tye put one in his bag.
Chasing the winning target, Finn Allen top scored with a quickfire 50(23) runs hitting four fours and three sixes. Apart from that, Cooper Connolly (48* off 35) and Ashton Turner (35* off 18) gave finishing touches as Perth Scorchers chased the winning target in 14.3 overs losing three wickets.
