The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday, August 26 made a slight change in the 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The continental tournament, which will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, will commence on August 30 with the final set to be played on September 17.

 

With less than a week left for the marquee tournament, the Pakistan side have made some slight change in the squad. The side has added left-handed batter Saud Shakeel in their 17-man side with Tayyab Tahir being named as a travelling reserve. The Babar Azam-led side, who are coming after a series win over Afghanistan in Sri Lanka, will reach their home country on Sunday, August 27 prior to the tournament opener.

 

Notably, Pakistan has been placed in Group A alongside Nepal and India for the six-team tournament. The Men in Green will begin their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Nepal on August 30 at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, before taking on arch-rivals India in Kandy on September 2.
