The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined all-rounder Aamer Jamal with a colossal amount of PKR 1.4 million for writing 804 on his Test hat in support of former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who is in jail on corruption charges. The incident happened during Pakistan’s home Test series against England in October 2024. The number 804 is linked with Imran Khan, who possesses the prisoner I’d in Pakistani jail. On several instances, Imran’s supporters have been spotted raising the slogans, "Tera Yaar, Mera Yaar Qaidi number 804", Besides Jamal, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and Salman Ali Agha also faced fines for returning late at night during the white-balll series in Australia.
Aamer Jamal’s political inclination also brought him at the receiving end of the PCB wrath earlier, who ignored him for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 played in Pakistan and the UAE. Jamal was part of Pakistan’s Test squad that clashed against South Africa in a couple of Tests. The 28-year-old failed to be impressive with both bat and ball. Pakistan will look to kick off their New Zealand tour with victory
Pakistan will be clashing against New Zealand in the first T20 International (T20I) of the five-match series at the Hagley Oval on March 16. Agha will be captaining the team in the shortest form of the game, and he is expected to lead from the front to help the Green Army pass this tough time. Following the horrendous ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, Team Pakistan have been facing criticism and their positive performance in New Zealand might pacify their critics.
Following that, Pakistan will also play three ODIs against the Black Caps from March 29 to April 5. PCB has kept trust on Mohammad Rizwan, who couldn’t be effective as captain and batter in the Champions Trophy 2025 played in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19 to March 9.
