Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a clarification after getting slammed by fans and former cricketers including Wasim Akram.  The Pakistan Board had posted a video earlier on Independence Day, August 14, paying an ode to the cricketing journey of the country.

The video displayed several iconic moments of Pakistan cricket but to everyone’s surprise, it didn’t include former captain Imran Khan. It didn't go well with many, and the board faced heavy criticism for the same.  However, the PCB issued a clarification on their social media channels and posted a rectified version of the video.

The board wrote, “The PCB has launched a promotional campaign leading up to the CWC 2023. One of the videos was uploaded on 14th August 2023. Due to its length, the video was abridged, and some important clips were missing. This has been rectified in the complete version of the video.”

Khan, who also served as the country's PM from 2018 to 2022. The former great is considered one of the best cricketers to have donned the Pakistan jersey. Khan led his team to their first and only win in the ICC ODI World Cup 1992.

Speaking of the upcoming tournaments, Pakistan is set to host the Asia Cup 2023 along with Sri Lanka. The ACC event is set to commence on August 30, with Pakistan and Nepal playing the inaugural clash. India will begin their campaign on September 2 in a match against Pakistan.
