The Shan Masood-led Pakistan will take on six-time world champions Australia in the third and final Test of the three-match series. While the visitors trail in the series 0-2, the final Test will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, starting January 3 rd. Ahead of the Sydney Test, Pakistan are trying all permutations and combinations to field the best possible XI to earn a consolation win in the series.

However, there have been several reports around players like Shaheen Shah Afridi missing the final Test as part of workload management, new reports suggest that the team management is mulling to field “unrecovered” Abrar Ahmed. The leg-break bowler, who was ruled out of the first two Tests after suffering a muscle pull during the tour game in Canberra, will feature in the third Test.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the leg-spinner bowled a significant period in the nets during Pakistan’s training session without discomfort. However, the Men in Green will wait and see how he pulls up after the training on Monday, 1 January and if there is any significant discomfort in the next 12 hours.
